Phase 1 – This project involved the demolition of an existing natural turf field and asphalt running track and the construction of a new 8-lane rubberized running track and a full-sized synthetic turf sportsfield for soccer/football (FIFA and CFL standard). Additional track and field events included: steeplechase, long jump and triple jump – IAAF certified. This project had a demanding schedule with a September start date the track was completed by November and the synthetic field by Spring 2012. Field requirements included grading to design subgrades, sub-drain collector tiles and concrete perimeter curbing with cast-in-place trench drain. Associated field facilities included fencing, lighting, bleacher seating for 1000 spectators and players benches on new concrete slab.
